Displayed Tour Costs

Hi - We are a multi-day tour provider and typically price tours according to the number of people in each hotel room. Single occupancy travelers (one person to a room) pay more than doubles (2 to a room), and doubles pay more than triple/quads (3 or 4 to a room). I've set up the back end of TourCMS to allow us to show this pricing, but when a customer is shown a particular tour, the system generates a "from" price that reflects the cost as a single traveler, which is not the lowest price as "from" would suggest, but typically the highest price. Is there a way to have the system use what is really the lowest price as the "from" price?

Additionally, when I tried to go around the system and put in the lowest price as an "offer" price, the displayed price on our beta web site ignored it and actually picked the highest price.

Here's a URL for illustration:

Displaying Customer Pricing

Hi All,

I did this before, but can't seem to find the correct area to make modifications. Where do I go to create different pricing types (single/double/triple occupancy, e.g.)?

Thanks,

Nick

Quantity-Based Pricing and Occupancy Types

$

I just stumbled upon the option to use quantity-based pricing. Is it possible to use this approach as a proxy for occupancy types?

For example, single occupancy (1 person in a hotel room) would be $X per person, double occupancy (2 in a room) would be $Y per person, and triple/quad occupancy (3 or 4 in a room) would be $Z per person... This would be ideal for us if we were able to label each quantity with language familiar to our passengers. How can I set this up?

Thanks

Nick

Hello,

A customer adds an additional tour or option to their confirmed booking.

Is there a way to manually demote the booking back to Provisional until payment for their additional tour's been received?

Many thanks!

Clear cache

Hello,

Is it possible to clear the cache for my TourCMS account for testing purposes? It seems that it takes a little while for changes (e.g. assignment of categories to tours etc) to become apparent on my website (using API).

Thanks

It is possible to add a token for product note?

It would be a great help for us using product specific vouchers.

Token issue with options

Hi Alex and Paul.

As you know, we are trying to restructure and create new CSS email templates, and have come up against an issue with fitting the 'options' in a custom table format, like when using the tour name, start date etc.

We don't want to use the summary_sale_table etc. as the formatting on this doesn't look as good as it could, also we are unable to change the font in this table on the email template, so again, doesn't look very professional.

Can you give me some feedback on this and how we can resolve this? We were making good headway until we realised this (what seems like an easy token to get) token is unavailable.

Thanks

Euan

Voucher Redemption

Hi All,

We are considering using the voucher redemption function in the near future.

As per the support page for this, there is apparently an internal TourCMS redemption function.

Redemption can be done by any member of staff with booking permission (logged in to TourCMS)

Whilst I have enabled vouchers within the Setup/Bookings General settings menu, I can't find any function within the TourCMS user interface to redeem vouchers, besides the external API call (or future POS app).

Has anyone else used the redemption function within TourCMS before, and if so, could you please point me in the right direction of how to achieve this?

Many Thanks,

Luke

Any ideas what is causing the massive increase in the log out and the below message showing? We are getting it on a constant basis over the last few months and it does not seem to matter where we are logging in from.

Getting to the point of causing real pain as it often happens when on the phone to a customer

Peter

Sorry. TourCMS has experienced an error that we could not recover from.

The event has been logged and sent to an engineer for analysis.

We suggest that you login again and continue what you were doing. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This page is also displayed if you are attempting to circumvent the security system (but we don't think you are doing that!)

Adding attachments to auto emails

Hi Alex,

I see in past posts that people have been asking for the ability to add rtf documents to the auto emails, are you any closer to making this a reality?

We would really like to have this functionality as soon as possible.

Thanks

Channels messed up

hi,

I have two channels lets say A & B. Channel A has city specific tours and B has only biking tours. At some point of time both are channeled separately but suddenly tours of channel B are appearing on channel A in the backend and asking to complete data for both channels, especially on "product page URL" tab.

I have checked the category tab and product filters both, they seems to be OK from my point of view. Where did I go wrong, please suggest.

Thank you

API time-outs causing lost sales

Hi Alex & Co.

We've been having a number of API calls that are timing out recently that are causing transactions to be corrupted. Does anyone know how we can resolve this?

In our programming, this is the process that we use...

1. When we are showing a tour details page, we check TourCMS to know what dates to show as available on the book now calendar.

2. When the user then confirms the booking and enters payment, we do another confirmation of availability with TourCMS.

3. When the user makes payment, we store details to our database and we also send details to TourCMS.

Because of TourCMS timing out sometimes, It is possible for payment to be made and for no booking information to reach TourCMS at the end.

What can be done to prevent this from happening?

API

Hello,

If I have a page that is making numerous calls to the API (because the page is populated using blocks) is this likely to impact the amount of time it takes to retrieve data, compared with a single page?

The reason I ask is that I my search page (which is a single page) retrieves data significantly faster than my tour pages (which are made up of blocks).

A related issue. Should I use the TourCMS file caching method if I also use the caching system within Concrete5 or a CDN like cloudfare?

Thanks

Sort not working properly

$

Hello,

I have a search page with option to sort trips by TourCMS-specified options (newest cheapest etc). One of these is sort by shortest. This (sort by shortest) works fine when the tours are of the same type (i.e. freesale), but does not work when fixed date and freesale tours are combined in the search: freesale tours are still sorted correctly but fixed-date tours are not.

Is there a way to fix this?

Restricted 'Distributed'

Hello,

It seems that calling tour data back to my website through API only works if tour is set to Distributed, but for a number of reasons (e.g. testing) I may only want the tour to show on my own website and not on connected agents' sites.

If I have a tour as 'Distributed' can I set it so it is only distributed to me?

Maybe there's a tour-specific setting that I've missed?

Thanks

Hi Alex,

Lots of clients of us plan to travel with their pets. Would it be possible to add "suitable for travel with pets" to the api?

Google Analytics

Hi guys just wondered if anyone had run into the same problem as me. Im currently trying to set up google analytics on my wordpress (Tour CMS templated) website to include the widgets for tracking following the guide up on the tour cms website . However the script that i am meant to recieve from google is different to the one quoted on the tour cms website which is making it confusing to know where to put the additional lines needed to activate the tracking. The script i recieved from google was as follows

<script>

(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){

(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),

m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)

})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create', 'UA-XXXXXXXX-1', 'auto');

ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

Where the instruction on the tour cms website reads as follows

The first step is to add the following two lines to the standard tracking code that you received from Google:

_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'none']); _gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]);

Thus the full standard tracking code would be as follows:

<script type="text/javascript">   var _gaq = _gaq || [];   _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXXXX-X']);   _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'none']);   _gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]);   _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);      (function() {     var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;     ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';     var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);   })(); </script>

If anyone can shed any light on what i need to do with my script to enable the tracking i would be really grateful

Thanks

Joe Marshall

Getting customer info into TourCMS

$

Hi everyone,

Regular question this, but I wonder if anyone has had the dev work done to make it happen yet?

What we're after is a Customer login where clients can enter their personal info, and have it loaded directly into their TourCMS booking and customer records.

- Login with surname and booking ID, possibly a password

- Ability to correct name spellings --> Customer record

- Enter / amend date of birth --> Customer record

- Enter gender --> Customer record

- Enter nationality --> Customer record

- Enter / amend address (Address / City / County / Postcode / Country) --> Customer record

- Enter all passport info --> Customer record

- Enter dietary requirements --> Customer record

- Enter emergency contact details (name / relationship / telephone / other contact details) --> Customer record

- Enter travel insurance details (policy number / notes) --> Booking record

- Enter flight arrival & departure details --> Extra booking content fields on Booking record (or just into a Note in the booking)

- Token for putting into emails to send clients link to this webform

- Choice of making all the above fields mandatory / optional

- Some display or notification of when all fields have been completed, or which are outstanding

- Email Notification sent to user assigned to the booking when the form has been submitted and also when completed

I think that covers what we're after. At the moment we're still emailing Word docs to clients and having to chase these up regularly, and often load the info into TourCMS in dribs and drabs. Could be made much more efficient.

Has anyone else been able to arrange a developer to do this, or something similar for their website & system?

Would TourCMS take on this development work for a fee? (anyone else interested in joining in to make this happen?)

If the info could only be loaded into the Customer record, with the booking specific info going into a Note on the Customer record, that would be OK I guess, and we can transfer it over.

Cheers, Ralph

Payment processor etc. recommendations

Hi,

At the moment I use Paypal for receiving payments, which are all in GB£. Customers have a choice of paying 25% deposit, or full balance. Expenses are incurred in IDR, because the activities take place in Indonesia. It costs around 2.5% to turn my GBP in UK into IDR in Indonesia.

Where the customer pays only a deposit, it frequently transpires that they have difficulty paying the final balance on arrival, in cash, due to poor financial infrastructure in Indonesia (no card processing facilities, no ATM, etc.). Currently I don't have a great solution for this, but obviously storing the deposit payment details would be a start and taking payment on arrival automatically (again the customer typically has no or unreliable internet access).

I read the documentation and it says only Payment Express supports this? Can anyone advise their experiences with this system (total costs)? Currently I might receive £3000 from Paypal in a month and pay around 3.9% of this (average, it varies) to Paypal, which is fairly expensive.

I would also like to look at a method of complying with the Package Tour Regulations - I am not sure what the best way to do this is, but if I am going to change my payment provider, then doing this at the same time would be sensible.
